The Best Place To Get your CFB stats LIVE + In Season plans
CFB Advanced stats LIVE at your fingertips!
The big day has arrived! The very first CFB Saturday of the year is tomorrow, which means dozens of games will be at your fingertips at any given moment. One of the questions I get asked often is “What is the easiest way to get these advanced CFB stats?”. You can get things like yards and TD’s pretty easily on sites like ESPN, but what about Expected Points Added?
Thanks to @akeaswaran @SaiemGilani, we have a fantastic website that will handle all of our advanced stat needs.

In Game Advanced Stats
The biggest feature of the website is the ability to track live advanced stats while the game is going on (sorry UCF-New Hampshire, this was just the game I was watching at the time of writing this). You can also get situational data (like early and late downs), explosiveness, drive level data and more. This is by far the best way to keep up with games as they happen.
Once a game is over, this page will remain the same and you can access it any time you like. The site will also let you find games that happened in previous weeks/seasons, you simply need to select which year and week you would like to go back to. Play by play data doesn’t really go back before 2014, so I would only go as far back as that if you did want to go back to previous seasons.
Pre Game Previews
Not only will you find in game advanced stats, you can also find a preview page before the game that will spit out a plethora of advanced stats. This can give you a very easy way to preview a matchup before it happens. It should be noted this page will go away once the game actually kicks off.
Glossary
Have you ever wondered what a certain advanced stat meant or how it was calculated? GameonPaper has an easy to access glossary of all of the notable advanced stats out there. If you click on the links, you’ll find articles that will go into even more detail about the specific advanced stat.
Game On Paper is my go to website for advanced stats. Its what I use to keep up with games on Saturday, and you’ll find my twitter feed filled with screenshots from it through out the season. I highly recommend giving it a shot on game days!
My In Season Plans
During the season my plan is to do quick recaps from the previous week, as well as a quick look at the upcoming week. For example, here are some of the most interesting QB matchups for the opening week of the season:
Personally, im excited to see Diego Pavia, the pride of New Mexico, take on Kyron Drones and the Virginia Tech Hokies.
My day job is in football so this the busiest time of year for me, but I promise I will try my hardest to keep up with the newsletter throughout the season. I hope you all have a good opening weekend of college football. ITS BACK BABY!!!

As long as I do this newsletter I will keep it free so that as many people as possible can enjoy and join us on our CFB data adventure. However, if you did want to show additional support the newsletter (which you 100% do not have to!) you can always buy me a coffee here!
