Happy Friday!! Here are the weekly updates for the consensus power ratings. It should be noted these were done before any of the Thursday games were completed this week.
Last week there was a bit of a gap between Georgia and everyone else, but this week Alabama/Texas/Ohio State closed up that gap while creating another one with the rest of the field. After two dominant rushing performances (against weaker opponents to be fair), UCF is knocking on the door of the playoff contention tier.
FIU earns the top spot as the biggest riser after beating Central Michigan at home as the home underdog. Hello top 30 South Carolina!!
Kentucky and Notre Dame both fall in the power ratings after two tough losses to South Carolina and Northern Illinois, respectively. Meanwhile, Oklahoma and Penn State won their matchups, but due to them being closer than expected, they take a very slight tumble in the ratings. Nothing to be overly concerned about, but noteworthy nonetheless.
I know its not the most thrilling week of CFB in terms of matchups, but I hope you enjoy the weekend of games nonetheless!
Seriously? FSU above GT?
